Call for Papers: Open Sessions

National Information and Library Policy Special Interest Group

Theme:

"The role of National Libraries in contributing towards the development of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s)"

The National Information & Library Policy Special Interest Group (NILP-SIG) is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a session at the 2016 IFLA Conference on The role of National Libraries in contributing towards Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s).

The Interest Group would therefore like to extend a call for papers which should focus on country, regional or continental initiatives by national libraries in support of the achievement of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

The theme is intended to put National Libraries at the forefront of national development as an important part of the new sustainable development agenda. Each of the SDG’s has specific targets to be achieved over the next 15 years. Some of these goals fall within the competence of libraries, thereby providing an opportunity for national libraries to make a meaningful contribution to societal development and nation building.
