Committee on Standards

Theme:

"IFLA Standards Making a Difference?"

IFLA’s Committee on Standards invites proposals for papers to be presented at their session “IFLA Standards Making a Difference?” during the IFLA World Library and Information Congress in Columbus, Ohio, USA, 13-19 August 2016.

The session will focus on the practical impact of IFLA Standards and Guidelines within the Library and Information community. We would welcome papers that discuss:

  • Initiatives where IFLA standards have been used for advocacy, decision making and project implementation.
  • Case studies on how IFLA Sections are undertaking revisions and developing new standards

Participants are encouraged to discuss both successes and failures within their papers and preference will be given to presentations that will equip participants with ideas and skills that are transferrable.

15 minutes will be allowed for a presentation in the Conference followed by 5 minute discussion/question time. The full written paper is not to be read.

Proposals should include

  • Title of the presentation
  • Abstract of no more than 400 words
  • Author(s) name, professional affiliation, postal address, e-mail address
